You can easily fix the problem with P8 simply by going into your windows upgrades list and uninstalling the upgrade to IE 11.

Did you let Windows upgrade IE from 10 to 11 around the time P8's library stopped working? SMS issued a SR to correct the problem caused by the upgrade for IE 10 to IE 11 but the fix only covered P9 and up.
